The kit has over 30 large genuine samples of volcanic rocks and minerals  to complete the study. Each is individually bagged, labeled, and color coded.

Minerals include:

Potassium feldspar, jasper, calcite, amphibole, pyroxene, calcium feldspar, sodium feldspar, muscovite mica, quartz, biotite mica, iron (magnetite), and olivine

Rocks includes samples such as:

Basalt, vesicular basalt, basalt porphyry, rhyolite, andesite, andesite porphyry, pumice, tuff, obsidian, ‘A’a, petrified ash, green sand, ash, basalt sand, magnetic sand, thunder egg, cinders, scoria, and pahoehoe (samples may vary according to availability).
